Frequently Asked Questions

Becoming a Client

How does my family become a client of yours?

Each potential family is invited to meet with me for a 60-minute initial consultation at a mutually agreed location (library, coffee shop, or virtually via Zoom or Teams). This meeting allows us to get acquainted and determine if my services would benefit your child and family. We'll discuss relevant information, goals, and documentation, and address any questions you may have. The initial consultation fee is $80.00, after which I will begin developing a personalized plan for your child.

How many sessions does my child need?

Session frequency is tailored to each child's individual needs. I generally recommend two to four sessions per week. I will work collaboratively with your family to determine an appropriate schedule that accommodates your child's educational requirements and your family's availability.

Professional Qualifications

What are your qualifications?

I bring a decade of experience in early childhood and general education, holding a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Colorado-Denver and a certificate in Autism Learning and Identification from the University of California-Davis.

My professional background includes teaching various age groups (preschool, mixed-age preschool, toddlers, and pre-kindergarten) at Head Start of Boulder County and private schools throughout Boulder County. I have served in leadership positions as both an assistant director and director of an early childhood education center.

Additionally, I have extensive experience in academic intervention for children ages 6-17 and established my own academic practice during the pandemic to provide one-on-one support for students unable to participate effectively in remote learning environments.

I maintain current CPR/First Aid certification, am a registered mandated reporter in good standing with the state of Colorado, and regularly pursue professional development opportunities through Colorado Shines.

Required Documentation

What forms do I need to complete?

My enrollment process requires completion of two essential documents: a policy acknowledgment form, and a comprehensive child intake form.

Session Locations

Where are sessions conducted?

Sessions are typically held at libraries or coffee shops throughout Boulder County. These neutral locations are selected to minimize distractions and optimize learning. For executive function skill-building sessions, virtual meetings are also available. I prioritize flexibility and will work with your family to determine the most effective learning environment for your child.

Cancellation Policy

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations made before 6:00 PM the day prior to your scheduled session incur no fee. For example, if your session is scheduled for 10:00 AM Wednesday, notification by 5:30 PM Tuesday would result in no charge.

Since I invest considerable time and effort into session planning, cancellations after the 6:00 PM deadline or missed appointments ("no-shows") will be billed at the full session rate. There are no additional cancellation fees beyond the standard session cost.

Billing Procedures

How do you invoice for services?

I generate and email invoices biweekly, with payment due upon receipt.

Progress Reporting

What updates are provided on my child's progress?

You will receive a comprehensive session summary via email every two weeks. Communication with your child's teachers or specialists is included in my standard fee and can also be provided biweekly.

Should you require additional progress discussions or more frequent updates, these can be arranged for an additional fee.

Late Arrivals

What happens if we arrive late to a session?

Sessions will conclude at their originally scheduled end time regardless of arrival time, and the full session fee will apply.

Behavioral Expectations

What is your policy regarding conduct and behavior?

I maintain a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate or aggressive behavior. Sessions may be discontinued if such behavior occurs.
